Visa Support

Please note that most foreign citizens are required to obtain a visa* at the closest Russian consulate to their place of residence before they enter Russia.

National Research University Higher School of Economics will provide accepted participants with visa support in the form of an official visa invitation that will need to be presented at the Russian consulate. 

To ensure obtaining a visa invitation in a timely manner, participants are required to confirm their intention to visit the conference by March 15th. 

*Please be advised that due to the FIFA World Cup taking place in Russia in 2018, there is an option to enter the country without encountering the hassle of applying for a visa. 

If you are planning to attend a FIFA World Cup match during your stay, you can enter the country with your FAN ID which is required for all spectators. The application procedure for the FAN ID is quite simple, can be accomplished online, with your ID delivered to you by courier service. However, you need to have won and paid for a football ticket at the moment of applying for FAN ID. Please find detailed information on the FAN ID here.
